Active City Businesses Network
The City of London sees up to 400,000 commuters arriving in the Square Mile each day. Most of these commuters walk or cycle to their final destination - businesses within the City. Active commuting is something that the City of London Corporation wishes to promote, however, last year 372 people were injured in collisions on the City’s streets; of which 83% were pedestrians or cyclists.
To address road danger, the City of London set up a Road Danger Reduction Partnership (RDRP) with the City of London Police, London Fire Brigade, Transport for London, Crossrail and the Greater London Authority to drive forward policy and delivery.
As City employers are the destination for commuters, City businesses are coming together to set up the Active City Businesses Network, with the aim to provide input into the RDRP and work together to reduce danger on the City streets.
