Wheel hubs, pedals, bottom bracket and handebars all contain greased bearings. They need to work properly for the bike to work efficiently and to reduce wear on moving parts.
Maintaining or replacing bearings is beyond the scope of this information, but you can learn how by attending one of the LCC’s maintenance workshops, or by buying one of the many maintenance books on the market. Bike shops sell specialist tools needed for working on bearings.
