Community Cycling Officer with the London Cycling Campaign

An exciting opportunity to work on ground breaking projects with London’s vibrant community groups is now open at the London Cycling Campaign.  We are looking for a talented, energetic and inspirational individual to cover for our Community Cycling Officer who is taking maternity leave. This full-time post is for up to a year * and is based at our attractive new office near London Bridge.

As well as working for LCC the successful candidate will be working in partnership with Good Going, handling the pioneering Cycle London Partnership Programme that awards grants for cycling projects.

For anyone who has worked with community groups this job offers a unique chance to participate in some of the most inspiring projects in sustainable transport and community work.

The prime aim of the post to encourage and assist community groups, black and minority ethnic communities, schools and youth groups, disability groups, disadvantaged communities and people who might otherwise not have the resources, to start cycling.

Main responsibilities include providing support, advice and access to cycling information for target groups; co-coordinating the CLPP community cycling grants programme and promoting cycling opportunities amongst community groups.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and networking skills, experience of working with diverse communities and strong organisational skills, along with plenty of initiative and the enthusiasm and patience required to establish cycling as part of the everyday lives of Londoners from all backgrounds.

In return you will receive an annual salary of £26,277 - £27,810, inclusive of London weighting, plus a 6% non-contributory pension, 28 days annual leave, and the opportunity to participate in a bike purchase scheme.
