Lambeth Cyclists have been involved with the Cycling for Women pilot project, which has run for almost a year. This is an 'action research' project run by the Women's Design Service in the boroughs of Lambeth and Camden, looking into the barriers that women may face when it comes to cycling - and seeking to overcome them. Check the link on the right for more details.
Following on from the WDS research project into why 50% fewer women than men cycle in London, local women activists have been working together to increase their knowledge of Transport Planning and Highway Engineering matters (traditionally male-dominated areas) in order to contribute fully in local borough forums.
People interested in commenting on Transport plans from a cyclist’s perspective are always welcome. As a regular cyclist in your own area, there is no-one more knowledgeable than you on the issues. For more information contact Clare Neely.
