London has some of the best rides in the country on its doorstep. The Chiltern hills; the North and South Downs and the country lanes of Kent are just a short train ride away – or you can get there by bike.
LCC’s magazine has a list of the recreational rides which are organised each week.
London also offers such wonderful rides, including the Thames route from central London to Windsor and Oxford, the Wandle trail in south London, the Waterlink Way from Greenwich to the south coast and the routes through the Royal Parks. London’s canals also provide enjoyable leisure routes.

LCC’s free guides produced in partnership with Transport for London can help you plan a leisure ride in London. Click on "London Route Maps" for more information and how to order.
If you are planning a ride outside London, one of the best shops in London for maps is Stanfords. It sells Ordnance Survey maps and Sustrans maps, which detail recreational cycle routes across the UK. Visit their website by following the link on the right.
