Sections of the Lea navigation tow path near the Olympic stadium will be closed between now and the summer.
Some sections of the tow path between the Hertford Union Canal and Three Mills are to be resurfaced and a pontoon bridge similar to the one at the Limehouse Cut is to be built under Stratford High Street.
LCC welcomes these improvements. However it will mean some temporary disruption to people using these paths for their journeys
Note that the detours are along routes with sometimes heavy, motor traffic; they are not all well signposted and can be inaccessible for people on specialist bikes or with trailers. Clearly our campaign work has not finished there.
