LCC aims to promote excellence in the provision of cycling facilities and the promotion of cycling. As part of this, we have an annual award scheme to reward cycling excellence.
The awards highlight projects which improve cycle routes, enhance the enjoyment of cycling and promote cycling and as as enjoyable and sustainable mode of transport. The awards set a benchmark for the facilities and services necessary to make London a world class cycling city.
Previous winners have included the Surbiton station, the floating towpath at Limehouse Link, a cycle route from Greenwich to the south coast and Burgess Park, a cycle track for children in Southwark.
The award categories in 2005 were:
- Best Cycle Facility
- Best Community Cycling Initiative
- Best Cycling Initiative for Young People or Children
- Best Cycling Media Initiative
We announce the award categories and details on how to nominate a project in our news section.
