LCC Cycling Awards 2005
We want your nominations for the London Cycling Awards!
If you know of a promising cycling initiative or facility implemented or completed since April 2004, here’s your chance to reward and encourage good work.
The categories this year are:
Best Cycle Facility
Best Community Cycling Initiative
Best Cycling Initiative for Young People or Children
Best Cycling Media Initiative
Nominations are open to anyone, including self-nominations. Nominated work must have been implemented or completed since April 2004 and be within London.
We had an outstanding set of nominees last year with Surbiton Station parking, Burgess Park Bike Track and the Tower Hamlets/Youth Action project all winning awards.
Nominations to be received by Friday 7th October 2005. They might include community events to recruit new cyclists, cycle confidence training projects, cycle parking provision, new cycle routes, facilities at work or school cycling projects.
The new Media Award is an opportunity to nominate those wonderful cycling websites, newsletters, booklets, magazines and videos. The Best Cycling Media Initiative is for all media formats including websites, print and video. It will recognise the individual, group or organisation that has made a significant contribution towards promoting cycling in London.
Awards will be presented at LCC’s AGM on Wednesday 2nd November 2005. Guidance notes and criteria for the awards are available from the LCC office or downloadable from the link above.
Please send your nomination, including the exact location with map (if applicable), along with a description and an explanation of why it deserves an award to us via the contact details below.
