On Saturday 11 June 2011, at Smithfield Market, the IG Markets London Nocturne is an evening cycling event that features professional criterium racing, as well as the inaugural Brooks Penny Farthing Race and the Kansi Folding Bike Race, complete with Le Mans-style start.
Thousands of spectators are expected to line the Smithfield streets for an evening of entertainment and to cheer on a host of top teams including Team Sky, HTC-Highroad and Rapha Condor Sharp.
We'll be there in force, showing off Trek's new Leopard professional road bike, a gorgeous blend of sophisticated electronics, high-tech materials, and shiny turquoise paintwork.
Look out for our new white gazebo in fresh new LCC livery, where we'll be handing out information about our current campaigns, and (hopefully) recruiting some new members.
LCC's Lucy Cooper said, "The Nocturne is an unmissable event: it starts early enough to take the family, and there's enough going to keep everyone excited, including a bar for the grown-ups."
Alongside the pro athletes, there'll be adrenalin-fuelled amateur racing in the Schwalbe Fixed-Gear Longest Skid competition and the IG Markets Team Challenge, which simulates the Tour de France trials in miniature.
