News and meetings

There's a lot happening in Newham!

The next meeting of the Newham Cyclists will be taking place on Monday, 28 March at 7pm at Stratford Circus.  A buffet and drinks will be provided.

This is essentially an informal occasion, with a chance for members, particularly those who do not attand the monthly meetings, to meet other Newham Cyclists, to hear about what is happening on cycling in the borough and to raise points of interest to you.

We are pleased to have two contributing speakers:

Dr Rachel Aldred - Senior Lecturer in Sociology at UEL, who is currently researching 'Cycling Cultures'

Gerhard Weiss - Cycling Development Officer at LCC

Otherwise, the agenda will be:

  • Agreement of minutes of last year's AGM
  • Questions and discussion on local cycling issues

Our 2010 Report and 2010 AGM minutes can be downloaded from this page (see links on right)

As well as campaigning we conduct frequent social rides and occasional special events such as maintenance workshops. Even if you are not so keen on the campaigning side, come along to a ride or other social activity and help to spread the word about our group and the London Cycling Campaign generally.
