Promote cycling to our politicians
We must promote the facts, that cycling is cheap and provides a solution to five great public policy concerns for London:
- public transport congestion
- inactive lifestyles and declining public health
- climate change
- road danger
- poor use of public spaces
LCC is striving to make sure policy-makers from all backgrounds never forget how good cycling is for our city. The current barriers to progress aren't financial or technical, but political.
A key part of our strategy is to involve politicians at all levels. Our city needs to be transformed by means of an overall plan, which requires input a city-wide level, but also via devolved, borough-led initiatives.
