The London Women's Cycle Racing League is holding beginner sessions to encourage new participants in its spring/summer road and track racing league.
After a phenomenally successful debut season in 2010, the league aims is encouraging female cyclists of all standards from London and the South East to take part.
The next pre-season 'meet and greet ride' is on Sunday 9 April 2011, at Crystal Palace, where potential new riders can meet experienced female racers and join them for a comfortably paced ride.
Last year’s league winner Maryka Sennema said, "Signing up for your first bike race can be intimidating, but once it begins, all the nerves are forgotten and you're in the thick of it."
League coordinator Maria David said, "We want racing to be fast and furious, but also fun and sociable.’
Women cyclists can affiliate to the league via their clubs or as individuals.
