Six-day Cycle to Cannes charity launched with new sponsors for 2013

The eighth Cycle to Cannes six-day charity ride will take place from 7-12 March 2013, with 80 high-flyers from the world of property riding from London to Cannes, arriving in time for the MIPIM International Real Estate Conference.

The ride was the brainchild of architect and cycling enthusiast Peter Murray and this year’s key sponsor will be Broadgate Estates, with the event  xpected to raise £200,000 for charities.

The principal beneficiary will be Coram, the UK’s first ever children’s charity, helping vulnerable children overcome hardship and trauma for over 270 years.

Article 25, Emthonjeni Trust, Multiple System Atrophy Trust and Tom’s Trust, are among the other organisations being supported, and since 2006 Cycle to Cannes has raised £1.25 million.

Steve Whyman, Managing Director of Broadgate Estates said, "This six-day challenging and rewarding ride is as close as you can get to a Tour experience with rolling road closures through France and a full support team.”

Other sponsors already signed up to the 2013 event include the CBRE Global Investors, Savills and Morrow+Lorraine, while the media partner is Estates Gazette.
