THURSDAY 1ST MAY, join us for a FREE Space for Cycling event in Spitalfields market to promote cycle-friendly town centres and liveable high streets.
From 9am - 3pm, we will be in Spitalfields market square with a range of cycling-related activities including our London Cycling Mechanics on hand to give your wheels a once-over and some special Yoga for Cyclists sessions from Nikita.
Nikita has been practising yoga for for over ten years, and hosts regular Yoga for Cyclists sessions throughout London. There will be free mini workshops of around 20 minutes each, running on the day; please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest and guarantee your place on the mat as space is limited. The specific flow of the sequence is designed to warm up and warm down properly, allowing parasympathetic nervous systems to kick back in after the practice. All postures are suitable for yoga beginners.
YOGA SESSIONS WILL RUN AT: 12.15pm, 1.00pm, 1.45pm and 2.20pm
Every London borough and electoral ward is different, and for the Space for Cycling campaign, LCC has identified a key action in each of London’s 624 wards, that would help cyclists in that area. These actions fall into six main categories, one of which identifies London’s town centres and high streets as the pulse of every borough. By making them safer and easier to reach and explore by bike, we can build a more prosperous and ‘liveable’ London. We're calling on council election candidates to support the creation of safe Space for Cycling in and around town centres and high streets, giving Londoners the opportunity to visit the shops and local amenities by cycle.
Come and join us on Thursday 1st May, and if you haven't done so already, please tell your local candidates that you want Space for Cycling in your area HERE.
