Diplomatic Protection Group SO6 attitude to cyclists

 

How interesting that the policemen involved in stopping cyclists using the gates on Downing Street are from the same group that that allows motorbikes to flout the law on ASLs; namely the Diplomatic Protection Group SO6. 

It appears that the gates at Downing Street are opened for cars but not for bicycles. Why should a minister on a bicycle be treated as having less right to be on Downing Street than a minister in a car?

I can only presume that SO6 do not have cycle divison.

:) Good to know I'm not the only one who saw that and whose main concern was the denial of service to the cyclist!

 

Especially as Wikipedia states “the public right of way along Downing Street has not been extinguished or subject to a gating order under the Highways Act 1980. The road retains the status of a public highway maintained by Westminster City Council”.
