Friday Post 27 May 2011 (cross posted)

Dear All,

Welcome to this week's Friday Post. Please forward relevant messages
to your local groups and contact me with any suggestions or comments.

Thank you to all treasurers! We are on time for handing our accounts
to the auditors thanks to your kind cooperation. It is much appreciated.

*Skyrides are upon us - leaders wanted*

There are three London Skyrides this year: Hillingdon on July 31,
Barking & Dagenham on August 21 and Central London on September 4. We
have been approached to tender for the Skyride led ride programme. LCC
groups have run really successful rides to all the Skyrides and
previously Freewheels, and we’re keen to deliver this year’s
programme. As in previous years they’re looking for rides from all of
the boroughs to the central ride and rides from the immediate
surrounding boroughs for the outer borough Skyrides (3 for Hillingdon
and 5 for barking and Dagenham). As in previous years there will be
funding available to local groups for delivering the rides.
The turnaround for the tender submission is really tight (next
Wednesday) so we’d like to gauge an understanding of your interest and
availability to act as ride leader/ support leader. Please can you let
us have a quick response using the online form at\

. Thank you

Please list your events for Bikeweek on the LCC website as well as
. Please have your Bikeweek stories ready with pictures as the
deadline for local group news submissions in the August magazine is on
24 June.

*New members for local groups*

Remember that you can sign up new members directly at your events. We
can also enable coordinators to get in touch with new members
directly. But either requires getting in touch with
or me first as there is of course a data protection issue to be
considered. Please get in touch ready for the event season.

*Dates for your diary*

Mon 6 Jun: Local Group liaison, 10:30am LCC office, RSVP
Fri 24 Jun: Copy deadline for local groups news in the August magazine
18-26 June: BIKEWEEK
Skyrides: 31 Jul – Hillingdon, 21 Jul – Barking & Dagenham

Happy cycling

Please could you givee me information about how we could do this. We're hoping to sign up new members at the Enfield Festival of Cycling. Also, please could you send me a list of current/new members in Enfield (at least those that have said it is OK for local group to contact by email) Thanks Richard
