havering Cyclists have a stand at "Pedalling into the Past" event at Hornchurch Country Park on Saturday 15 September starting at 12:00.
A cycle event that includes bush craft skills, a flypast by an RAF Lancaster Bomber and a chance to meet Alpacas is on offer this month in Hornchurch Country Park.
Pedalling into the Past, run by Havering Council, will take place on Saturday 15 September near the Squadrons Approach entrance to the park from 12.00noon to 5.00pm.
The free event combines a celebration of the history of the park with cycling to create a fun event for all the family. Lots of secure cycle parking will be available for those who cycle to the event.
Visitors can find out about the park’s RAF history, see a flypast by an RAF Lancaster Bomber, appreciate its rich variety of wildlife and try out cycling on different types of bikes.
There will be many activities for all ages to enjoy in including cycle polo and archery. Children can try out a pedal powered disco or learn bush craft skills and even meet some owls and alpacas.
For cycling enthusiasts and those who like a thrill, a BMX stunt team will perform a show. Bike health checks will be offered to those who bring their bike and the police will be on hand to security mark them.
