doesn't mention taxis being allowed to stop and pick up passenegers on a double red "no stopping ant any time" lines either.
But of course they wouldn't would they?
I'm in the process of trying to get a response of out TFL about the taxis stopping on red-routes issue. In fact the TFL web site is inconsistent, in one place discussing the difference between single- and double-red-lined red-routes, and then lining the user to a page that discusses exceptions for taxis (yes, taxis are allowed to stop on red routes), but it is ENTIRELY UNCLEAR IF THIS APPLIES TO SINGLE- AND DOUBLE-RED-LINED RED ROUTES.
Aha! They may have fixed their text (or I just didn't see this bit). It says taxis cannot stop where the red line is "wide"......I don't know if I've ever seen this "wide red line":

Basically the TFL web site bites and needs to be contracted out to a real web hosting professional. It's inconsistent as hell, and the only way to contact the web designer is through the general enquiries email address. WTF?!
Turning rant switch to "off" now.
