Lambeth Cyclists Architecture Ride: North Kent Coast
Saturday 16th July 2011

We're pleased to announce one of our annual excursions into the Kent countryside, courtesy of our architectural friend and sage Benny O'Looney.
Benny is leading a 'cycling, swimming, and possibly sketching' cycle tour of the north Kent Coast (a detail of one of Benny's splendid watercolour examples depicting Broadstairs Pier is shown).
We will start cycling in Faversham, and then running along the coast from there, potentially ending at a drinking spot in Broadstairs.
Architectural highlights include the fine Guildhall and Abbey Street in Faversham, The Victorian charms of Birchington and Westgate and a look at the newly opened Turner centre in Margate by David Chipperfield.
Abundant sea bathing opportunities could make this a rewarding and refreshing experience for both the body and the mind!
- Meet at Victoria rail station for the 10.22 am train* (journey 1hr 17mins)
Purchase return tickets to Broadstairs as we aim to finish the ride there.
* (Southeastern service from London Victoria to Ramsgate)
Group Save
Don't forget Group Save – 4 travel for the price of 2! To take advantage of this offer, some are meeting at 10.00 am at the ticket office to get into groups of 4 to get the discount tickets.
Please get there in good time to get your bike on the train!
