Le Tor

Ride to Gallions Hill ('The Tor') - Saturday 14th July - meet 10.00 am at Cutty Sark Gardens. Join Greenwich Cyclists for a shortish ride to the local landmark in Thamesmead known variously as Gallions Hill or The Tor (seehttp://www.geograph.org.uk/snippet/5576), atwenty-metre-high mound created from recycled excavated material which providespanoramic views of the surrounding area - a free alternative to the cable car but without having to end up at Excel. There will be no lunch stop as such though we will probably stop off at the Firepower cafe for elevenses. The ride will end in the early afternoon - probably around 1 pm - returning to Cutty Sark. The route is largely traffic-free or on quiet roads and is suitable for all bikes. Gareth 07533-564971.
