The 11th Mithrasmas Meander from Greenwich to central London where we’ll partake of a meal at a fine Lebanese restaurant on the Edgware Road. The ride is a Christmas Day tradition begun by the late great Barry Mason, and the renaming is my heathen prerogative.
Starting at 10:00 from Cutty Sark Gardens, we will follow the Thames Path clockwise, call at Southwark Needle to collect more riders, and head west as far as Putney, again following the river for the most part. Following a refreshment break at the Duke’s Head riverside watering hole, we will cross the Thames via Putney Bridge, and head north-east through Hyde Park toward Edgware. Stay for lunch if you want, or drop out at Putney to return home to the bosom of the family and more traditional xmas fayre. Those who do opt for the Sanin restaurant meal could end the day with another pub stop.
Last year we had around 80 participants, and it was jolly good fun. With such a large group it would be good to have experienced ride marshals to keep the group together. Volunteers should contact Francis -07840 191336( no texts!)
