North Downs summit
A Lewisham Cyclists ride. In Grand Old Duke of York style, we will cycle to the highest point in the North Downs (c 260 metres AOD), then back down again. It's a surprisingly gentle ascent, through a mixture of suburban and country roads, but a long, pretty continuous one. We'll aim to stop for lunch at Tatsfield, then return via Downe and Keston.
About 35 miles or 60 km, with a couple of short sharp hills on the way back, this is a medium ride. No off-road sections, so suitable for any bike. We'll go at a comfortable pace and no-one will be left behind.
Meeting point is Le Delice by Ladywell Station. As usual, please be ready to depart at 10. Bring basic tools, spare tube(s), water, sun cream if you're feeling optimistic.
