Since 2003, we've been putting our energies into promoting cycling to all kinds of Londoners, including many less privileged groups.
We’ve shown how cycling can help to tackle individual and community isolation, transport deprivation, unemployment and traffic hazards. CCFL helps make London a more people friendly-friendly city.
Through the Community Cycling Fund for London, we've administered over £1,000,000 in grants and provided thousands of hours of free guidance to enthusiastic volunteers so they can:
- Pay for bikes, tools and storage
- Teach cycle training and maintenance
- Organise educational and enjoyable cycling events
By promoting group working, teaching practical skills, and through the therapeutic effects of outdoor activity and exercise, these cycling projects have given deserving adults and children an opportunity to improve their lives and enjoy the benefits of cycling.
