The growth of cycling in the capital in recent years has been spectacular, and London Cycling Campaign’s annual Awards ceremony will celebrate and honour the great and the good of cycling. The Awards will highlight the amazing grassroots and community projects that inspire a new generation of London cyclists, as well as the must-have cycling brands and cycle retailers, both large and small.
Nominations are now closed. The winners will be announced at the ceremony on Wednesday 16th July.
The Project Awards are designed to acclaim the efforts and achievements of charitable organisations, grassroots groups, schools, colleges, universities and London local authorities that have inspired a new generation of cyclists or helped to increase the number of Londoners that cycle on a regular basis. Anyone can nominate a project initiative, digital campaign or cycle champion and the winners of the will be selected by an independent panel of experts
Project Award Categories:
Cycling Initiative of the Year: Any individual or project that has shown originality and has motivated more Londoners to cycle
Youth Sector Cycling Champion: A person or organisation that is working hard to promote and encourage cycling to young people (under 18 only)
Digital Campaign of the Year: Acknowledging individuals or organisations that have shown creativity and the ability to use digital technology to engage Londoners in all cycle-related activities. We are looking for innovative apps, websites, social media campaigns or online projects
Grassroots Project of the Year: We want to know about cycling engagement, increased cycling within particular groups and cycle-related achievements in the community
Best Space for Cycling Project: Commending the very best in cycling infrastructure that demonstrates one of six main Space for Cycling campaign themes.
- Introduction of 20 mph zones,
- Safer routes to schools
- Protected space at main roads and junctions
- The removal of through traffic zones
- Safe cycle routes via parks and canals
- Liveable town centres

The Consumer Awards will showcase the cycling accessories, brands, and cycle retailers, as well as identifying an individual who has championed cycling in the capital. For the first time we will also focus on the cycling blogs that London’s cyclists have come to love and depend on for news, reviews and interesting cycle related debate.
Consumer Award categories:
Cycling Brand of the Year: Your favourite bicycle or clothing brand or an event / brand that promotes cycling
London’s Best Small Bike Retailer: 5 or fewer retail outlets
London’s Best Large Bike Retailer: More than 5 retail outlets
Cycling Champion of the Year: An individual or organisation that has gone to great lengths to champion cycling
Bike Blog of the Year: Celebrating the best bloggers who engage cycling audiences
The finalists in each category have been chosen by nominated by our members. They will be published on our website on Tuesday 24 June, and taken forward to the public vote.
Public voting closes at midnight on Tuesday 8th July and the finalists with the most votes will then be selected as the winner of the specified Consumer Award category.
