Our professional mechanics can teach groups in your organisation about how a bike works and how to keep it in good shape. This activity is often run alongside a bike check session.
What are the benefits?
Knowing about bike maintenance gives people the confidence to use their bike more regularly. It can save them time and money when something goes wrong, and reduces stress.
Employees who cycle to work are healthier and take less time off, and encouraging sustainable transport is a key part of Corporate Social Responsibility.
What do we provide?
An experienced bike mechanic will visit your organisation with tools, a stand, and a demonstration bike. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes along too.
Sessions can be tailored to your organisation and can be run either inside or outside. At workplaces these sessions are often run during a lunchtime and last between 45 minutes and two hours.
The session can include:
- Overview of the bike and tools
- Fixing and preventing punctures
- Keeping brakes powerful
- Making your gears work
- Wheel care and repair
The sessions can be run at introductory, intermediate or advanced level depending on the audience. Both new cyclist and experienced commuters have benefited from these sessions.
Why we're the experts
We've been running successful bike maintenance classes since the 1980s, to students with every level of knowledge, all over Greater London.
In that time, we've taught literally thousands of people to look after their own bikes, giving them valuable independence.
What our clients say...
"I attended a lunchtime workshop on basic bike care. John, the mechanic, spent over an hour demonstrating and helping us with our bikes, and showed us loads of useful and helpful tips." Parliamentary & Health Ombudsman
