Please read below for details of how to nominate entries for the four main award categories at this years Campaigner Award

MAKE A NOMINATION


Deadline for nominations - Monday 5th October, 5pm.

LCC members and Local LCC Groups are invited to make nominations in the above four categories by filling in this form. Local Groups are encouraged to nominate themselves in the relevant categories for activities or events that they believe meet the crtieria listed below.

Winners will be selected by our panel of experts, with winners announced at the LCC AGM on Saturday 17th October 2015. Got a questions? Email activism@lcc.org.uk

Information on nominating

Individual LCC members can make nominations for the Local Group and/or individual LCC member they feel meets the criteria for each award category.  LCC members may also wish to make a nomination on behalf of their Local Group and nominate an event or campaign they have organised or held as a group, or by nominating a local group member for the Ride Leader Award, or Campaigner of the Year award.

Nominations must be made for activities, events, campaigns and rides organised or delivered over the past 12 months (from 3rd Oct 2014 - 2nd Oct 2015) which they feel meet the criteria listed below. Groups may also nominate another groups' campaign, event or ride leader should they wish, instead of a self-nomination. For any questions, please email activism@lcc.org.uk

1. Best Ride Leader

Awarded to an individual LCC member

LCC members and Local Group representatives may nominate a fellow LCC member for this award. Please complete the relevant section of the nomination form before Monday 5th October, 5pm.

Award Details

To recognise the LCC member who has gone the extra mile to lead or deliver rides in your area in the past 12 months. This could be someone who has led a particularly interesting or popular ride; someone who has a talent for encouraging new people or diverse groups to get on their bikes; or someone who works hard to deliver regular rides on behalf of your group.

The Judges will look for evidence of:

  • a sustained, regular commitment to LCC rides over the year, 
  • increase in numbers and / or diversity of participants on rides,
  • recruitment of ride participants to LCC membership and / or local activism

 

2. Best Local Group Ride or Event

Awarded to a Local Group

LCC members and Local Group representatives may nominate their group or another Local Group for this award. Please complete the relevant section of the nomination form before Monday 5th October, 5pm.

Award Details

To recognise a single ride or event organised by a Local LCC Group in the past 12 months that has been especially creative, innovative or excelled as a campaign action or cycle promotion activity. 

The judges will look for evidence of:

  • tangible local Space for Cycling outcomes achieved as a result of the event, such as a change in street design,
  • high member, supporter or public participation, or
  • recognition of the event outside of the local cycle campaigning community, such as press coverage or mentions in political speeches

3. Best Local Group Campaign or Initiative

Awarded to a Local Group

LCC members and Local Group representatives may nominate their group or another Local Group for this award. Please complete the relevant section of the nomination form before Monday 5th October, 5pm.

Award Details

To recognise a creative or successful LCC local group activity or campaign from the past 12 months. 

The judges will look for evidence of:

  • tangible local Space for Cycling outcomes achieved as a result of the activity, such as a change in street design, or
  • increased local group activism,
  • increased local political influence

4. Campaigner of the Year

Awarded to an individual LCC member

LCC members and Local Group representatives may nominate a fellow LCC member for this award. Please complete the relevant section of the nomination form before Monday 5th October, 5pm.

Award Details

To celebrate an individual LCC member who has shown innovation, creativity or endurance in campaigning for cycling improvements in their area in the past 12 months. This is someone whose particular individual efforts, either as a group coordinator or tireless campaigner have resulted in a positive outcome for cycling in their borough.

The judges will look for evidence of:

  • a sustained, personal commitment to local LCC campaigning,
  • tangible benefits for cycling achieved as a result of their campaigning, and
  • own-initiative or taking responsibility for organising campaigning
