photo As a barometer for the bike industry, Condor and Evans recent expansion is a very healthy signal
The cycle industry is looking very healthy compared with other retail and manufacturing sectors in the UK.
London bike builder Condor Cycles is doubling the size of its London warehouse to cope with record sales, while Evans has opened a new flagship store in the West End. Increased footfall at the company's Gray’s Inn Road store, along with expanding UK and overseas orders, have prompted the move. Evans new shop at 62 Mortimer St, W1, is the UK's largest bike shop. The basement premises features an open workshop, along with over 10,000 square feet of bikes and accessories.
