Intrepid unicyclist aiming for Everest

Unicycling across NepalAdventurer Steve Colligan plans to unicycle 1000km across the “Roof of the World” to enter the record books and raise funds for children in Nepal.

Colligan, 47, from Manchester, will traverse the backbone of the Himalayas from Lhasa in Tibet to Kathmandu in Nepal via Everest Base Camp.

Five high-altitude mountain passes over 5000m and temperatures of -15C stand in his way.

Colligan believes he's the first person to attempt such an extraordinary feat by unicycle: "I don’t even know if it will be possible but I’m going to attempt this demanding challenge to help raise money for educational development in rural Nepal."
