On one of the warmest September days since 1911, over a hundred commuters swapped the heat of the tube for the breeze of their bike and joined one of our 13 led rides to their workplace for this year’s Cycle to Work Day.
From Shepherd’s Bush to Greenwich and first-time commuters to those who just needed to give their bike a quick dust, our ride leaders and marshalls thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine on their cycle in.

At Finsbury Park our sponsors O’Donovan Waste Disposal brought one of their lorries to offer cyclists an important insight into a HGV driver’s perspective on the road before they set off.

Elsewhere Fully Charged provided e-bikes for cyclists to whizz to work and Cycle Republic UK mechanic Kingsley was on hand to help out with any unexpected punctures. It was great to see so many different organisations working together to support this event.
So fast you almost can’t see them!
Rosie, who joined the ride from Hackney to Farringdon, said it was a ‘super friendly’ morning and that it was the first time she had commuted by bike in 2 years. But BikeTubes was not just for grownups on their way to work. As you can see in the photo below, often the little ones had the best seat in the house!
Soon enough it was time to start work but we hope that everyone who took part enjoyed this unique experience and we wish you another safe journey home this evening.
