Londoners keen to cycle to work but employers must take the initiative

A new survey conducted by the Holborn Partnership shows that Londoners are keen to cycle to work but employers must take the initiative.

The survey, conducted to clarify the perceptions of greenspaces and to drive future improvement programmes, suggested that 40% of those interviewed said they would cycle to work if facilities such as showers were provided. 12% said they already cycle to work.

Simon Hughes, Project Manager of The Holborn Partnership said:

“These results demonstrate dramatically that cycling is a desirable mode of transport provided that related [shower] facilities are in place. In fact, introducing such facilities is just one of many environmental policies that businesses can pursue to save cash through reduced energy usage, waste production and carbon emissions, and increased staff motivation.”
