Membership and fundraising volunteer

(minimum three months; 14 hours a week)

The membership and fundraising team is looking for an enthusiastic individual to work within a small team to assist and support the membership and fundraising activities of LCC.

Although this is a largely administrative role, the position will give the post holder the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team involved in membership support and fundraising in a membership led organisation.

As a membership and fundraising volunteer, the successful person would be expected to undertake the following duties:

  • Answer members queries via telephone, email or letter

  • Processing credit card payments

  • Database work

  • Prepare welcome packs for new members

  • Opening incoming post and franking outgoing post

  • Check the membership outlook inbox

  • Carry out large mailouts

  • General administration duties such as filing and photocopying

  • Ad hoc tasks and projects as instructed by the other members of the team

Person specifications

  • Can work at least 14 hours a week for a minimum of three months

  • Have an interest in the work of LCC

  • Be motivated, reliable and able to work independently

  • Happy to undertake routine duties

  • Good telephone manners and communications skills
