Nominations are now open for the London Cycling Awards 2011

Now is your chance to nominate your favourite cycling project or event for a London Cycling Awards 2011.

This year, there's a new category of Local Campaigner of the Year and there will be a public vote in the Events category.

The Awards, run by the London Cycling Campaign for more than a decade, recognise the hard work and ingenuity that go into the countless cycling projects, events and schemes in the capital.

Anyone is invited to nominate a cycling project or facility for an award, and self-nominations are welcome.

The categories this year are:

  • Local Campaigner of the Year
  • London Cycle Event of the Year
  • Community Cycling Project of the Year
  • Best Project for Children or Young People
  • Best New Cycling Facility
  • Best Workplace Cycling Initiative

Last years winners included Tower Hamlets Cycling Club, Friday Night Ride to the Coast, Barclays Cycle Hire, and the Recycle project.

The Awards will be presented at our AGM on Wednesday 16 November 2011.

Details on how to submit a nomination can be found at

The deadline for nominations is midnight on Monday 10 October 2011.
