Product review: Caribee Flipback Laptop Backpack

A good commuter backpack needs to fulfil a few minimum requirements: it needs sufficient storage capacity for a change of clothes and basic bike spares (spare tube, levers, multi-tool); it needs a dedicated space for your computer or tablet; it needs to have adjusters to keep the load stable; and ideally separate pockets for wallet/keys and a bottle of water.

The Flipback packs all those features into a very slimline and lightweight design that’s still been robust enough for our daily ride to work and school run. Those unfussy lines have been ideal when carrying our under-5s in a childseat.

There’s a padded pocket that fits a 15in laptop, outside pockets for letters, money and snacks, and a bungee cord for hanging wet clothes. The only thing it misses is a raincover, but at this price that would have been exceptional.
