2022-2026 is a vital stage in London’s zero-carbon journey. Motor vehicles are the largest and most stubborn source of London’s emissions, and borough councils control 95% of the city’s roads. We need all our councils to act in the next four years and be bold – or it’ll be too late to get to zero carbon roads by 2030. That’s what’s needed for London and Hammersmith & Fulham to do their bit.
That’s why we developed five asks for each London borough council in the 2022 council elections to cut road transport emissions fast and enable lots more walking, cycling and wheeling.

ASK 1. High Quality Cycle Network
We're calling on Hammersmith and Fulham Council to identify and build a high quality strategic local network to complement longer distance routes and respond to greatest need.
ASK 2. Liveable Streets
We're calling on Hammersmith and Fulham to deliver Liveable Streets quality low traffic neighbourhoods for all residential areas in the borough and expand their reach and pace of delivery to 3 in 2022, 5 in 2023, to full coverage by 2025.
ASK 3. School Streets
We're calling on Hammersmith and Fulham to change the onus of school streets so that they are the default option at all schools.
ASK 4. Safe Junctions
We're calling on Hammersmith and Fulham to improve the most dangerous junctions in the borough to high standards and provide pedestrian signals at all signalised junctions as well as cut freight motor vehicle movements by 25% by 2026.
ASK 5. Secure Cycle Parking
We're calling on Hammersmith and Fulham to make it easier and cheaper to park a cycle than it is to park a car everywhere in the borough and expand the delivery of secure cycle parking to provide the equivalent of 1% of the available car parking spaces eg. 4,000 places by 2025.
