We're calling on Haringey Council to build two additional north-south cycle lanes and a continuous east-west cycle lane
2022-2026 is a vital stage in London’s zero-carbon journey. Motor vehicles are the largest and most stubborn source of London’s emissions, and borough councils control 95% of the city’s roads. We need all our councils to act in the next four years and be bold – or it’ll be too late to get to zero carbon roads by 2030. That’s what’s needed for London and Haringey to do their bit.
That’s why we developed five asks for each London borough council in the 2022 council elections to cut road transport emissions fast and enable lots more walking, cycling and wheeling.

We’re really committed to delivering schemes that will fulfil these asks, however some of these schemes need funding from TfL while others need further feasibility – if we don’t deliver the specific schemes listed, we’ll deliver schemes like them – for more detail on Haringey Labour’s take on the asks see the Haringey Labour Manifesto.

“On behalf of all 57 Haringey Liberal Democrat candidates I am happy to confirm our support for all of LCC’s policy asks, and in many cases want to go further, as set out in the Haringey Liberal Democrat manifesto.”

“I regularly cycle in the borough, I love being active and getting places quickly but I often find being a two wheeled road user scary. Haringey Cycling Campaign have brilliant proposals to make cycling safer. These would not only benefit existing cyclists but encourage more people out of their cars to join us! We would all benefit from cleaner air.” – Rosie Pearce, Candidate for Seven Sisters Ward
Did they pledge?
I realise that the roads near me are no place for children, or the less confident, to cycle so I became a Climate Safe Streets Champion in the hope that we can work towards safe, active travel for all.
