A leisurely ride for all to go South of the River along the Wandle Trail.
Meet at Brook Green W6 7BD, beside the tennis courts from 9:50 am for an 10:00 am cycle briefing. We will ride to Abbey Mills via Wandle Trail, Wimbledon Common, and back to Hammersmith at a slow leisurely pace, approximately 10-11 m/h. This ride is about 22 miles and combines busy roads, smaller quieter roads, and cycling through beautiful parks and on cycle paths.
Our route takes us through Barons Court, South Fulham, crossing at Wandsworth Bridge before continuing to Wandle Trail. The Wandle Trail is a 12.5-mile walking and cycling trail that follows the River Wandle from Croydon to Wandsworth in south-west London. The trail will take us to Abbey Mills. Merton Abbey Mills is a former textile factory in the parish of Merton in London, England near the site of the medieval Merton Priory, now the home of a variety of businesses, mostly retailers.
We will stop for refreshments at Abbey Mills. We would like to encourage riders to bring snacks and drinks. Refreshments are available to purchase from the cafe.
The return journey takes us through Merton, Wimbledon Common and back to Brook Green.
Join us for another joyful ride in the company of like-minded people.
