Croydon loop: commons, parks and woods

A 19 mile Croydon loop through Tooting and Wandsworth and Clapham Commons to lunch in Brixton (2 parking hoops directly in front of the cafe and more beside it). Then into Brockwell Park on the way to Streatham Common for a pause to admire the lyrical Rookery. Then it is downhill along the path through the common and Norwood Grove to visit the beautiful, atmospheric old Biggin Wood. Then we take side streets back to the starting point.
We first rode this route in March and I liked how, after cycling 40 minutes on streets we emerge into parkland London, with commons after commons and parks and woods, then a half hour on streets to finish.
We will set off from Queens Gardens CR0 1GY at 10am. The route is 19 miles. I think we will cycle for 150 minutes and take 4 hours for the whole ride so expect to be back by 2pm. Any bike can handle this ride but riders will need their gears for the 2 miles of hills between Brockwell Park and Streatham Common.
Please bring a spare inner tube.
