Croydon to Camden Market by river and park, on to St Pancras

Let’s ride to Camden Market in the sunshine! Let’s go along the Wandle Trail and the Thames Path. Let’s then ride through Chelsea, South Kensington and Hyde Park. And Marylebone and Regents Park too. To get home St Pancras station is just another mile along.

Croydon to Camden Market is 24 miles and 3 hours cycling at the slow pace needed for Wandle Trail and Thames Path. We will stop for our first lunch break at Battersea Park, a vegetarian café called Vibes. Our next lunch break is Camden Market.

If you have a good enough lock you dare to leave the bike unattended – and I have done there many times – you can use one of the many parking stands. If you want to stay by your bike you have the smart, clean, spacious Hawley Wharf towpath space fronting Regents Canal. There are various foods offered in the Hawley Wharf market building behind (which has toilets), and across the road in Camden Market itself. Our final lunch stop will be on the Hawley Wharf towpath space, which has outdoor seating.

I will lead anyone who is ready on to St Pancras station for the train to East Croydon. The route is pictured in the link. If you want to ride into Granary Square just stay on the towpath. Granary Square has Canopy Market beside a full size Waitrose.

If you think you might pick up an item or two in the market to take home bring a backpack or pannier bag. Please bring a bottle of water. Also an inner tube. If the valve on your tires is Schrader (short and thick, same as a car tire) you will need a pump too.
