Ealing Cycling Campaign Leisurely Ride: Harmondsworth Moor
Meet at Ealing Town Hall at 9,45am for a 10am departure.
A steady ride of approx 40km/ 25 miles with lots of off-road and traffic-free sections. We follow the canal towpath as far as West Drayton, before turning off into fields, tracks, and lakeside views. We will have a picnic lunch on Harmondsworth Moor. This is an extensive green space of meadows, trees and ponds, on land that was once used for gravel pits, and you would never believe that you are so close to Heathrow.
Please note that there are no café facilities on this ride, so you will need to bring your own food and drink!
The return ride uses quiet back roads where you feel like you/re in the middle of the countryside, with an afternoon tea stop at Osterley House before returning to Ealing. We should return by approx 3.30-4pm.
