We have a ride starting at Farringdon Station and winding along streets of Clerkenwell and Holborn to the Regents Canal in Islington. Then Haggerston via London Fields, Hackney, for a food and drink stop in the excellent Bread & Butter. Afterward we will follow the route of Nov 3rd as far as Blackfriars Station. That takes us to Canonbury to ride the New River Walk, and St Pancras, Bloomsbury, Covent Garden and the Embankment.
This is a short route of 13.5 miles and it is the wonkiest, twistiest of our rides to date, all happening between Blackfriars and London Fields.
My estimate of riding time is 2 hours 10 minutes. The route is short but has comparatively many road junction stops. So the total time for the ride would be 3 hours 30 minutes to Blackfriars Station at 2pm.
Meet at Farringdon Station as close to 10:30 as you can on the station concourse under the canopy or outside. Trains from East Croydon leave at 10:01, platform 2 (arr 10:26) or 10:03, platform 4 (arr 10:31) and 10:15, platform 4 (arr 10:41)
You will need lights for the later part of the ride and to get home. If visibility is poor I recommend you keep lights on for the whole ride.
Don’t forget to dress warmly, especially hands and feet. Bring water, spare inner tube and a strong lock as we will lunch indoors. The lunch stop has bike parking right outside.
