Nicholas Hawksmoor was a contemporary of Christopher Wren and worked with Wren on several major buildings including St Pauls. Later in his career he designed and supervised the building of several major projects. The best known are his London churches and the ride will visit 5 of them. 9.30 start from The Needle, south side of London Bridge, Ride will visit St. Mary Woolnoth (Lombard St), Christ Church, Spitalfields, St. George in the East (Wapping), St Anne’s Limehouse and St. Alfege’s Church (Greenwich). With a coffee break expect to finish at St Alfege’s at 12 noon. For riders wishing to return to London Bridge we will lead a ride getting there around 12.30.
