From Hammersmith to Windsor via Virginia Water, a Leisurely Bike Ride

Intermediate bike ride of about 30 miles one way or 53 miles return. Good fitness is required. Mostly well-paved surfaces and easy to ride.

Meet at Brook Green W6 7BD, beside the tennis courts from 8:45 am for an 9:00 am cycle briefing. We would like to depart by 9:15 am. It’s going to be a long ride of 4-5 hours including the rest stops. We will ride to Windsor at a slow leisurely pace, approximately 10-11 m/h. This ride is about 30 miles one way. It includes some hills, cycling on main roads, cycling along heavy traffic as well as cycling through beautiful parks and cycle paths.

This is our bimonthly bike ride to Windsor. This is a leisure ride, all are invited. Please note that we will be cycling at a leisurely speed of about 10-11 miles per hour. If you are not able to keep up you can ride with us to Kingston or Bushy Park and return back to Hammersmith. This time, we will take a more challenging route in preparation for London to Brighton. We have chosen a route of about 30 miles with some elevations and we believe all our riders will be able to reach Windsor. We wait for riders after steep hills to allow everyone to rest and continue as a group. For your return journey, we recommend that you take a train back to London. A small group of riders will be cycling back to London. The return journey is 23 miles and an average speed of at least 14-15 miles per hour.

Our route takes us through Barnes, Richmond Park, Kingston, Bushy Park, Shepperton, Virginia Water, and Windsor. We will have a rest stop at the Embroidery Gallery and Virginia Water. Please bring snacks and drinks for the rest stops. We will have a food stop at the famous Cinnamon Cafe in Windsor, where cyclists are welcome and there is a safe parking area for our bikes. Good menu, a variety of main meals and cakes.

Join us for another joyful ride in the company of like-minded people.

We expect to be back at Brook Green at about 6-7 pm or earlier if you are going back by train.
