LCC protest event - lots of people on bikes

Join us for a friendly bike ride to explore the local area, keep active, build cycling confidence and have fun.

This short monthly bike ride is suitable for everyone – we get moving at a gentle pace with regular stops along the way whenever we need to. We usually cycle about 5-6 miles in total and always have a longer stop at a café to relax with refreshments when we reach halfway. The whole ride takes about two hours including the break.

Earthfest Feeder Ride

These weekend King’s Cross is home to Earthfest 2025 – a four-day festival dedicated to inspiring positive climate action through live music, art, eco-fashion, workshops, and over 100 speakers and 60 exhibitors showcasing sustainable solutions. The event aims to foster community engagement, celebrate sustainability as a lifestyle, and reinvest proceeds into local clean air initiatives, making it both a celebration and a catalyst for real environmental change.

KT Pedals will double up as a feeder ride to accompany anyone wishing to cycle to Earthfest. The ride will be fully led and marshalled by Camden Cyclist’s trained volunteers.

The KT Pedals ride will return from the festival at 11:30am. However, if you wish to stay longer at the festival, we will have a second return ride at 3:00pm. If you would like to join the later return, please sign up to the additional RSVP below.

The meeting point for the return ride is Granary Square – we will meet in the area between the red pedestrian bridge and the steps down the canal.

About the Ride

The ride is especially suitable for you if any of the following apply:

  • you have recently learned or are returning to cycling and would like to build your confidence at cycling in the local area.
  • you would like to improve your overall fitness with some gentle exercise and movement – it’s a similar level of effort to going for a walk.
  • you are keen to spend time outdoors connecting with nature and the local community.
  • you would like to meet people and take part in a fun activity together.

You don’t have to be an experienced cyclist to take part, as long as you can can steer, pedal and use your brakes then this ride will be suitable. If you are a complete beginner you should get a free lesson from Camden Council first and then join our rides after you’ve learned the basics.

This is a regular ride happening on the first Saturday of each month. The route varies each time typically via cycleways, quiet roads and parks – we always include a refreshment stop. The ride is organised by Camden Cyclists in collaboration with local NHS GP practices. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a quick chat about the ride before joining, please email Suzanne at ktride@camdencyclists.org.uk.

Borrowing a bike:

We have a couple of bikes available to borrow, you can reserve one together with your place using the form below. You need to arrive a little earlier at 9:45am so we can get the bike set up for you before we start. If you would like to wear a helmet, we do have a couple available to borrow with the bikes, but please bring your own if you have access to one as this will ensure it fits well.

Bike checkups:

If you haven’t used your bike for a while, you might be struggling with flat tyres, worn brake pads and more… We do bike checkups and a mini-workshop to make minor repairs before we set off. You need to arrive a little earlier at 9:30am if you would like a bike checkup.

Book your free place:

You can book your place on the ride and reserve a bike using the forms below.

If you need to cancel please email us at ktride@camdencyclists.org.uk so we can free up the space for others.
