LCC Women’s Network Freedom Ride 2026

Sunday July 5 2026 @ 12:00 pm

Come and join the LCC Women’s Network for a short ride of about 7 km round central London, visiting three very special women and waving to a fourth.

This ride is for women and their allies; children are welcome but remain the responsibility of their carers.  We will have a team of mainly women marshals to keep everyone safe;  the route is on some busy roads and some blissfully quiet areas.

We will set off at 1200 from the National Theatre on the Southbank (Our What 3 Words for start point is: music.healers.entry ) and head across the river to Parliament square, and on to Victoria Tower Gardens for a group photo round the memorial to Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst. Then we will go and find the statue of Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer who worked in the mid 19th century. It is in a very surprising place. Our route takes us past Buckingham Palace, down the Mall, round Trafalgar Square and along the Strand,  ending up (What3Words: curiosity.town.simple)  in the new green space created on the south side of the Strand where our ride finishes at about 1300.

Take a bike lock in case you want to go exploring afterwards, pack a picnic for the end of the ride, dress for Freedom to Ride, design a banner, be as colourful as you like.

What do we want ?

Freedom to Ride !
