Lewisham Cyclists’ Ride into Kent
Full day Kent ride into Kent. Cafe stop at Speedgate or Stansted Village. Will be around 40miles in distance, subject to routing. We classify this as a hard ride for this time of year. You will get autumn leaves and quiet country lanes.
Train assisted ride getting the 9:19 from Lewisham to Petts Wood arr. 9:38.
The ride (approx 40 miles) is out via StMaryCray, revisiting Star Lane!
then Hextable, Sutton at Hone, Longfield, New Ash Green to Stansted with its ‘art noveau’ war memorial then up thru West Kingsdown to ‘Speedgate cafe’ for refreshments which will be 2/3rds through the ride so bring snacks/drinks. Returning down Mussenden Lane then Horton Kirby, Swanley Village, StMaryCray & Poverest Road to finish back at Petts Wood. (after 2pm). Classified as hard ride, plenty of quiet country lanes, a few climbs & couple of roads with some traffic so for experienced riders only. Ride leader les robinson. lesliekeithrobinson@gmail.com.
