Lewisham Cyclists London Explorer Ride: Oxleas Wood and Severndroog Castle

June 8 @ 9:30 am

Meet at the cafe below Catford Station at 9.30 am if you want to join me for breakfast, 10am leaving time for a local ride through parks and quiet streets mostly to Severndroog Castle and Oxleas Wood. There’s a cafe there for a tea break and then back via Charlton and Blackheath. Around 20 miles (might be a bit of up involved, but we can wait for those who need to walk.) And some busier junctions to negotiate once or twice, so not suited to absolute beginners with no road riding experience. But you don’t have to be super experienced at all: we will look after you if you’re a little bit uncertain about the busier bits. Ride could be suitable for families, but do ring or text for a chat if you would like to bring under 16’s.
We should be back in Lewisham by around 2 depending on stops etc.

Make sure your bike is safe to ride and your  tyres are in good condition (good idea to check for bits of glass, sharp stones etc stuck in them, before every ride) pump them up to right pressure and bring along a spare inner tube to fit your tyres. Read our general ride information on our website. ride info

We’d say this was a moderate or medium ride in terms of difficulty. Terms are explained in more detail in the general info. If you still have questions, contact Jane, ride leader, on 07395153782
