Lewisham Cyclists Train Assisted Shenfield Loop

LOL Shenfield Loop · 30 May
Meet 08:45am · Liverpool Street Station
If you’d like a steady day out in the Essex countryside, we’re heading out for a 50–55 mile moderate social ride. Expect wide open views, quiet lanes and unhurried company, with the occasional hill to keep things interesting.
We’ll take the 09:02 train from Liverpool Street to Shenfield (arr. 09:24). The route is mostly quiet lanes with a few trickier sections for experienced riders. It’s not a fast ride — we don’t drop anyone, and the group waits at the top of climbs. Essex is also a little kinder on the legs than Kent or Surrey. We aim to roll back into Shenfield station by 16:00, with a lunch stop, and plenty of photo breaks along the way.
Bring the essentials: spare inner tubes, snacks, weather‑appropriate clothing, and ensure your bike is well‑prepared. Even with longer evenings, please bring lights in case we’re delayed for any unforeseen reason.
