Merton CC Solstice Ride
Pop your inner Druid on her bike and pedal her up to Richmond to watch the sun set over the Thames Valley. We’re meeting at 7.15pm outside Wimbledon Station and departing at 7.30pm. We’ll head up Wimbledon Hill, along Parkside, over Tibbets Corner then left along Putney Heath, through the Danebury Estate and into Richmond Park at the Roehampton Gate. Up the hill to the Richmond Gate and then stopping on the terrace opposite The Roebuck. There’ll be three or four other LCC groups in attendance, so plenty of chat and picniccing to be had before sunset. We usually cycle back through the Park in dark, so bring powerful lights. The pace is fairly slow, but probably not a family ride owing to the late return on a school night. Bring whatever food and drink you want to enjoy. The Robuck will be open and pleased to sell refreshments.
