OSEA ISLAND BIKE RIDE

Jun 9, 2018
(Cycling)

OSEA ISLAND is a small ( 1 sq mile ) inhabited island previously containing a rehab centre whose regime was so severe it was closed down. It is now a boutique hotel.

It is separated from the mainland by a 1 kilometre tidal road that is available twice a day at low water. It is proposed to have a picnic on the beach before returning to Maldon on the mainland where it is expected to have a pub stop or tea shop break distance approx 22 miles over gently undulating back country roads and gravel tow paths as well as sea wall paths, varying terrain, not best suited to narrow rimmed wheels. Make certain your bike is in good order and fit for purpose.

WE have a limted tidal window and will leave Witham asap / The ride, not fast, but is not suitable for stragglers.

Bring picnic food and drink Get return ticket to Witham. dep Liverpool Street 10.02 calling Stratford arrives Witham 10.46 return from Chelmsford Tony

This ride is for adults not families.

Jump on the train at Stratford or Liverpool st and find the group at Witham.
