The London Borough of Waltham Forest’s annual festival of Cycling, the Tour de Waltham Forest, takes place on Sunday, 22 September. (Note early start) Events are centred on Fellowship Square, which is the piazza with a pond in front of Walthamstow Town Hall. There will be food stalls and cycling-related attractions, including a Dr Bike. But most excitingly for cyclists, there will be rides starting and ending in the square.
Waltham Forest have organised three routes. In increasing order of length, they are the bronze ride of 9 km, silver ride of 16 km and gold ride of 20 km. You can register for the rides in advance. In the morning, there will be no marshals but the routes will be signposted and you can use an online map. In the afternoon, there will be people to help.
Redbridge plans to lead a marshalled feeder ride from Redbridge to Fellowship Square in the morning. We will then lead a good route ride. You could then join us on this if you wish. We will have time in the afternoon after the ride for some refreshments and then lead a ride back to Redbridge . Afternoon timings will be determined by the group on the day. To book the ride over to Fellowship Square in the morning, click the RSVP button below.
